A Christmas Cracker

The Christmas Cracker address had everyone puzzled.  We pulled the cracker – Andrew and Tessa did a grand job – but then we were all stumped with the cracker joke.  Do you get it?

It transpired the minister had managed to find an old cracker from 2018.  In fact, it was a celebrated misprint in the Sainsbury’s Luxury collection* that year and the source of much comment on social media at the time.

You’ve got it – ffi – had been left off.  What a con.  Should we ask for a refund? *other brands of luxury Christmas Crackers are available.

New Administrator at Peebles Old

Rosa Cabello, Administrator, Peebles Old

Following the retiral of Ruth Kerr after 4 years as our Administrator, we are pleased to announce that Rosa Cabello has been appointed in her place and has already taken up her post.

Rosa lives in Peebles, and comes to us highly recommended. She has a wide experience of working with a number of local charity groups, with which she continues to be involved.

She has already taken up her duties and will normally be available in the church office on Tuesday and Friday mornings. We wish her well in her new post.

Grateful thanks are also due to Ruth Kerr for the significant contribution she has made to the wellbeing and working of the Old Parish over the last few years and we wish her well for the future.
